Installing C2RPS-CHAS2 into the Rack
2-4 Installation
ToinstallaPSM,proceedasfollows:
1. AlignthePSMwiththeslot,thenslidethePSMforwarduntilitsfrontpanelisflush
againstthechassisfrontpanel.
2. FastenthePSMtothechassisusingthecaptivescrews.
3. Performsteps1and2foreachPSMbeingreplaced.Whencompleted,proceed
to
ConnectingthePSMCablesandACPowerCordsonpage 26.
Installing C2RPS-CHAS2 into the Rack
Toinstallthechassisintoa19inch(48.3cm)rack,youneedfourusersuppliedscrewsto
fastenthe chassistotherackrails.
AfterinstallingthePSM(s)asdescribedbackinInstallingC2RPSPSMsonpage 22,
rackmountthechassisasfollows:
1. Refertotheinstallationguidelines(“
GuidelinesforRackmountInstallationon
page 24).
2. Installthechassisintotherack(“RackMountingtheChassisonpage 25).
3. ConnectthePSMcablesandACpowercords(“ConnectingthePSMCablesandAC
PowerCordsonpage 26).
Guidelines for Rackmount Installation
Theinstallationsitemustbewithinreachofthenetworkcablingandmeetthe
requirementslistedbelow:
•Chassisplacementcloseenoughtoconnectthe2meter(6.6foot)ACpowercords
fromthePSMstotheACpowersource.
•Uptotwothreeprongedpowerreceptaclescapableofdel iveringthecurrentand
voltagespecifiedinC2RPSPSMSpecificationsonpage A2.UptotwoACoutlets
onindependentlyfusedcircuitsmustbewithin182 centimeters(6 feet)fromthe
installationsite.IfthereisanACpowersourcefailure,thiswillpreventthepowering
downofPSMsduetoasinglesourcepower
failure.
•Powercordsandtypeofoutletaredependentonthecountry.Inthe UnitedStates,
onepowercordwithanNEMA515PplugisprovidedwitheachC2RPSPSM.
•Anambienttemperatureofbetween5°C(41°F)and40°C(104°F)mustbemaintained
attheinstallationsite
withfluctuationsoflessthan10°C(18°F)perhour.
Note: If you plan to remove and not replace a C2RPS-PSM, immediately reinstall
coverplates over any empty power supply slots to prevent EMI leakage from the chassis.
